Story:1

I am Veronica Hasda from Sadamohol village (in Bochagonj upazila, Dinajpur- Northarn part of Bangladesh). I have studied untill class-I at primary schooland unable to read and write. I used to find long bus journeys stressfull because I could not understand the signs or work out which bus to catch. Now, that I can read I feel confident to travel on by myself and is afraid of getting lost. 

 

Story:2

I am Anjulina Murmu. I live in Pollibidyut (in  Kotowali upazila, Dinajpur- Northarn part of Bangladesh). I did not attend school as a child. Since joining the adult literacy group my confidence level has grown up. Now, I feel confident in trading handmade bamboo products with the buyers. They can not cheat with me as I can recognises the value of the different notes and can check the money I receive.

Story:3

I am Shefaly Tudu from Jogonnathpur village (Pirgonj upazila, Thakurgaon-Northarn part of Bangladesh). I am a member of the Literacy group. After joining in this group I am able to sign my name and is therefore eligible to make a loan from a local organization.

Story:4

I am Bishu Hasda from Jogonnathpur village (Pirgonj upazila, Thakurgaon-Northarn part of Bangladesh). I am a member of the Literacy group of my village. I am a member of local government office. I felt ashamed when I could no sign my name on the attendance sheet of the official meetings. Now, I have learned to write my name. When I attened the meeting I proudly sign my name on the attendance sheet and use my literacy skills to communicate with the officers.
