Adult Literacy - National Language

Adult Literacy : National Language

SIL has introduced Adult Literacy programs for people who have dropped out of school early or never had a chance to attend and are now beyond the age of formal education. The eight-month course in the national language develops learners’ numeracy skills as well as teaches them to read and write. Adult literacy is one of the best ways to increase their inner strength and knowledge. The skills they learn not only increase the nation's literacy rate but help the people to develop personally, socially and economically. Adult Literacy gives the underprivileged the opportunity to start a new chapter of life with the smile of success and satisfaction.

SIL is assisting the Mahle, Kol and Koch communities with 8 groups in different parts of Banglagesh. It is encouraging to see that many men and women attend classes after a long day of hard work. Many trained community volunteers are witnessing the good progress of adult learners and sharing in the success of new literates.
